A Reflection on the Class

This was one of my favorite classes. I found all of the information to be very informative, but also interesting. Something I really appreciated about this class was how the tools we were taught could easily be used in the real world. I know all classes are suppose to teach things that the students can use for there careers, but I found this class translated to the real world very well. I actually started a stained glass business at the start of COVID quarantine, based on social media. I have been using a lot of the information from this class to better my business. For example, content planning and scheduling. This has been something I have been struggling with, because I do not have a built up album where I can pull photos from. Every photo that is posted, was taken that same day. Though, my photo situation has not changed, I have been able to come up with captions in advance, so it makes my posting easier and more cohesive. I am still working on hammering out my posting schedule, but working on captions in advance has definitely helped. Another aspect I have been focusing on since this class, has been my target audience. I always knew a target audience was important, but I never realized how important it was to cater to your audience when posting on different platforms. Each platform has a different clientele that likes different things, which this class helped me realize. I have also been working on changing up my captions when I am cross posting photos on different platforms to appeal to that specific clientele.

I really enjoyed this class and felt there was a lot of valuable information taught and retained, which I cannot say about many of my other classes!
